Celandine for Biliary Dyskinesia

Celandine may improve bile flow and biliary tract function

A 1999 study found that an extract of greater celandine and turmeric root significantly improved right upper quadrant abdominal pain due to biliary dyskinesia compared to placebo over 3 weeks. Biliary dyskinesia is abnormal contraction of the gallbladder or biliary tract. Greater celandine may cause digestive or other side effects. Rarely greater celandine may cause liver injury, which could be serious.
