Meet Graig Alpert, MD

Dr. Graig Alpert Boca Raton DPC medical doctor

Dr. Graig Alpert is a licensed and board certified family medicine doctor. He grew up in Boca Raton, Florida. He became a doctor because he is passionate about helping people be healthy and achieve their goals. Having worked for a large hospital-based system, he saw how difficult this was to achieve with the restrictions imposed by such systems.

  • Visit time limits after waiting months to see your doctor

  • Lack of same day availability; avoidable urgent care or ER visits

  • Difficulty contacting your doctor

  • Often seeing providers other than your doctor

Dr. Alpert’s focus is on personalized, proactive and preventative healthcare with your health goals at the center. He has a particular interest in the evidence-based use of herbs, supplements and vitamins to optimize health. He has received a certificate in integrative medicine from the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine.

He recognizes that each person is unique and believes that everyone should be offered the highest level of healthcare. He doesn’t just specialize in treating disease; he focuses on optimizing health and preventing disease.

An Evidence-Based Natural Approach to Modern Medicine

We take a proactive approach to healthcare by addressing the underlying cause of disease and making individual recommendations to prevent disease development given your family history or known genetic variants.

Many providers will start treating acid reflux or GERD with medications. While this helps with the symptoms, it doesn’t address the underlying problem. Acid reflux is typically caused by decreased muscular tone of the lower esophageal sphincter. Most medications prescribed for this work by decreasing stomach acid production. The cause of the acid reflux was never addressed, lower esophageal sphincter tone is still decreased and now your stomach acid production is reduced. I will work with you to correct the cause of the decreased lower esophageal sphincter tone first, before prescribing medication. In some cases, the benefits of medication outweigh the risks and this is something we can decide on together.
