Cannabidiol for Seizures
A 2017 study found that cannabidiol (CBD) at 20mg/kg per day in children was significantly more effective than placebo at reducing seizures over 14 weeks in children with a drug-resistant seizure disorder. Convulsive seizures decreased from a median of 12.4 to 5.9 per month in the CBD group vs 14.9 to 14.1 per month in the placebo group. There was no significant reduction in non-convulsive seizures. CBD may cause digestive or other side effects.
