Agrimony for Liver Health
A 2017 study found that 80mg of the aerial parts of Agrimony (Agrimonia eupatoria) twice daily significantly improved elevated alanine transaminase (ALT) enzyme levels compared to placebo over 8 weeks (mean 68 to 52 in agrimony group vs 68 to 70 in placebo). Agrimony also significantly improved aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and triglyceride levels. Agrimony has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Agrimony may cause digestive or other side effects.
