Topical Marshmallow for Candida

Topical marshmallow may improve symptoms associated with vulvovaginal candida — A 2023 study found that topical clotrimazole (an anti-fungal) plus an extract from marshmallow flowers was significantly more effective than topical clotrimazole alone at improving symptoms of vulvovaginal candidiasis after 7 days of treatment. Marshmallow is thought to have anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory effects. Topical marshmallow may cause skin irritation or other side effects.
