Olive Leaf for Osteoarthritis

Olive leaf may improve symptoms of osteoarthritis

A 2025 study found that olive leaf extract, both topically and orally, was significantly more effective than control at improving symptoms of knee osteoarthritis in people aged 60-80 years old over 8 weeks. In particular, the compound Oleocanthal is thought to have anti-inflammatory effects similar to Ibuprofen, working through the inhibition of Cyclooxygenase enzymes. Olive leaf may cause digestive or other side effects.
