A 2010 study found that an 80mg extract of lavender taken daily was significantly more effective than placebo at treating anxiety. A 2014 study also found that the 160mg extract of lavender was more effective than the 80mg extract at improving generalized anxiety disorder over 10 weeks. There are many different types of lavender. No significant adverse effects were seen but some people may experience digestive issues.
